wooden people project

Supplies Needed:

wooden people measuring 2 3/8" tall

scrap fabric measuring 1.5"x 2 3/4"

modge podge (matte)

modge podge (shiny) *OPTIONAL

craft paint for hair and face details

paint brushes for applying paint

pencil

Directions: Cut your fabric to specified measurements above. Apply modge podge liberally to entire body (below neck) of the wooden person. Align fabric to the bottom of person and wrap around. When your fabric starts overlapping, apply more modge podge and press fabric firmly.

Apply a second coat of modge podge over the fabric and press the neckline down, using modge podge as needed until the fabric lays down on the neck.

When the fabric 'dress' has dried, use your pencil to draw the hair on. Next, paint the hair in color of your choice.

Now, paint on the facial details. Simple dots and lines go a long way. Too many details starts looking messy. Allow person to completely dry. *If you would like to give your wooden person some shine, brush on a coat of shiny modge podge as it is non-toxic (making your person safe for small hands). Be sure to make several so that your wooden people won't be lonely!
