boo! cross quilt finish

I'm tired guys. Really tired. However, I am also anxious to share my quilt finish with you so I'll try to say all I want to say about this quilt. My friend said this quilt has been my 'baby'. I fell in love with the Lizzy House Guising fabric and it was gifted to me for my 32nd birthday if you remember. This collection is great because while it does embrace Halloween the color scheme will last ALL fall and, knowing me, the quilt will be a ''year rounder'' at my house anyway!
Cross quilts have been around but I made up my own layout that includes negative space that I find refreshing. My eye travels diagonally down the quilt which could be interesting. I have this exact pattern in the works using Flea Market Fancy. If it works well with that perhaps I will have a nice quilt pattern to share in the future so long as I can manage to not be SO darn tired!
I purchased the polka dot backing and binding fabrics from a local quilt shop. Once washed they had an unexpected but nice distressed appearance ... the fibers are still strong but the ink washed out quite a bit. I think it makes the quilt look loved!
I quilted a horizontal wave pattern using my walking foot and machine stitched the binding. I love the tutorial from A Quilt is Nice.
Side note: My husband talked me into going to an old creepy graveyard to take quilt pictures but afterward we both felt a bit 'iffy' about it so I cropped out the crumbling headstone from the top photo!
