Feather Quilt

I just finished my Feather Quilt and I don't know if I've ever been more happy with something I've made. I branched out of my comfort zone and free motion quilted circles...a Dixie cup and fabric pen were never put to better use! I think I loved this project because the process from beginning to end was completely new. I had to create a paper piece pattern (I should have saved the first few attempts...they looked like Christmas trees) next make the blocks, then decide what kind of quilting to try...it was all very exciting for me! I even tried my hand (again) at machine stitched binding and completely fell in love with it. The koi fabric which I've been hoarding for the better part of 4 years was finally used. The binding is Michael Miller's painted canvas in a bright orange which I kicked myself for buying in a 1/2 yard because it is rather bright when spread out across my table but for binding it's the perfect pop! I've decided to put it up for sale. SOLD Although, I wouldn't complain if it happened to stay with me forever ~
