feather quilt block
I have to admit when I saw Anna Maria Horner's 'feather quilt' I just about died from shock! Here is a wonderful write up with great pictures. I was inspired and HAD to have a feather quilt so I spent all day yesterday coming up with a block pattern. I made several with different strips of fabric and then last night made a few with just one strip of fabric for each feathers side - both have their own appeal but I didn't photograph any with the strips (yet). The block is a simple paper piece and I do plan to write a tutorial very soon.
Today marks the first official day of vacation and tomorrow we head out to the beach for 6days/7nights. My youngest two children have never seen the ocean and I am looking forward to sharing the experience with them. Bella and I will both be celebrating our birthdays while we are there (age 5, and 32)! I will have my computer along so I can hopefully share some pictures with you.
